About Us

After over 15 years of working in prisons across the North West, we recognised the need to address reoffending – which was robbing so many people of their potential. The MEC is our solution.

We provide ex-offenders or those at risk of offending with full-time employment, accredited training, secure housing, and the Christian support they need as they look to turn their lives around. It is a model that has proven itself to work time and again and is transforming lives across the nation and beyond.

Employment

Our two-year programme starts with providing full time jobs in one of our nine businesses. Trainees then get to work with our team of managers gaining valuable work experience and skills as well as on-the-job training and support.

Training

In addition to our work-based training scheme, the MEC is an official apprenticeship provider that works in partnership with a number of local colleges meaning that when a trainee graduates our programme, they have a qualification and skill that will stay with them for a lifetime.

Christian Support

What makes the MEC distinctive is that our Christian faith underpins everything we do. All of our Team Members have demonstrated a desire to live a Christian lifestyle. Each Team Member undertakes our Roots discipleship programme which is a resource designed to help them stand firm in the Christian faith.
